Calm canal cruising, lily pads and countryside right next to the coast
WHAT TO EXPECT
Date: Saturday 27 June On the water: 10am - 3pm A calm, linear paddle steeped in history. This picturesque paddle takes us down to a green corridor through Hythe's countryside, as we paddle adjacent to the coast on the Royal Military Canal – we’ll pay a visit to the ice cream van if it's there too! We start our paddle from West Hythe - an exclusive site for our friends at Seapoint Centre, who we're partnering with to allow us to paddle on this stretch of river, otherwise needing a license from the council. Please note, there is a £5 launch fee to Seapoint payable on the day. It's a gorgeous stretch - trees lining the canal, lily pads-a-plenty, sheltered and calm waters, paddling to our fave cafe, Unit 1. ____ Our trips are for anyone to join, as long as you are comfortable with the type of water and conditions as described above. We welcome you onto trips even if you've done the route before - we often have paddlers repeat a trip just because they loved the day out! They're all about paddling in beautiful spots with others who are happiest outdoors too! If you're unsure if this trip is for you, or wish to double check your suitability for it, just reach out and we're happy to help! Reminders: > You must be able to self-rescue to join > Bring your own kit and equipment > Be 'on the water' ready by the start time > A valid Paddle UK membership is required (waterways licence & insurance) > If you are booking accommodation, ensure it's fully cancellable up to 24 hours prior > 4% booking fee will be added at checkout
